Author-Model Team to appear at The MarQuee


 If you loved The Tudors and The Other Boleyn Girl, you do not want to miss the release party for award-winning novelist Laura Navarre at Spokane’s hottest nightspot, The MarQuee.


The Seattle-based, historical romance author is making her debut with a sexy dark Tudor romance called The Devil’s Mistress, a recent release from Samhain Publishing.  Navarre is a finalist for RWA’s coveted Golden Heart award.  Her next work, a spicy romance set during the Crusades called The Devil’s Temptress, has already racked up nearly a dozen awards. 


But that’s not all:  In her “day job,” Navarre is a weapons of mass destruction expert who’s worked at the Tri-Cities’ Hanford nuclear site.


And who is that gorgeous couple in Tudor attire locked in a passionate embrace on the cover?  You guessed it.  They’re Spokane’s own cover models, Jamie Thomas and Shane Rice.  They represent Navarre’s reluctant assassin heroine and the French knight she can’t help loving.


The release party opens briefly to the public at 7 pm on Saturday night, May 7.  The festivities will begin in The MarQuee’s VIP area (21 and over, please).  Guests will be able to purchase copies of the book autographed by Navarre, Thomas and Rice—all of whom will be signing at the event.  


Rice is a busy guy; in addition to portraying hero Sir Joscelin Boleyn on the cover, he’s also a way-too-hot model. Rice just snared a First Runner Up title in the Romantic Times magazine’s Mr. Romance Competition in Los Angeles.  Also, look for his photo shoot in an upcoming issue of Marie Claire.
